The restriction of Russian diplomatic access to the European Parliament building are seen by Moscow as inappropriate, a Russian diplomatic source told Interfax.
"We see this decision as an inappropriate, inadequate reaction for a solid establishment such as the European Parliament," the source said.
"These actions taken by the EU will most likely not be left without a response," he said, adding that issues relating to the access of EU officials to the State Duma and the Federation Council are to be decided by the agencies.
The source reiterated that the reaction of the EU partners to the so-called blacklists made by Russia is not quite clear because the Europeans had asked to get those lists on a confidential basis. He said that "they have distorted everything, they are demanding some explanations, they are taking a hurt pose, and they are taking inappropriate measures."
The source expressed regrets that the EU has reacted in this manner to the blacklists of citizens provided by Moscow.
