The Kremlin has paid close attention to media reports on U.S. intentions to deploy ground-based missiles targeting the Russian nuclear potential either in Europe or in Asia and will analyze these reports in detail, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said.

"Indeed, we have paid attention to the media reports. We will need to analyze them before offering any opinion. But we have definitely paid close attention to these reports," Peskov told reporters on June 5.

Dmitry Peskov was also asked to comment on a statement by Poroshenko regarding the unprecedentedly high threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

"I don't think it's necessary because the [Russian] Defense Ministry has given fairly clear explanations and stated its attitude to such words coming from Kiev," Peskov said.
