Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko says Russia is preparing for 2018 World Cup in a calm, gradual and pragmatic way.

Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko says Russia is preparing for 2018 World Cup in a calm, gradual and pragmatic way.

"Russia is full of resolve to host one of the best World Cups and fulfill all its obligations," Mutko told a press conference on preparations for the 2018 World Cup due to be held in Samara.

"The world cup is the main world football event and Russia, which has received this right [to host the World Cup] is approaching its work very responsibly and is fulfilling all its obligations to FIFA," Mutko said.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia in the period between June 14, 2018 and July 15, 2018. 2018 FIFA World Cup games will take place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, and Sochi.
