Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko believes that Russia will attempt to "undermine stability in Ukraine from within."
"The format of this hybrid war will change in the near future. And after we have significantly strengthened the defense potential of our state, the might and the effectiveness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces by joint efforts, Russia, instead of launching a head-on attack, will undermine Ukraine's stability from within," he told a Regional Development Council meeting in Kiev on Friday.
"They will make allegations about the presence of some political foundation for creating these or some other so-called people's republics," Poroshenko said.
"But the effective and precise coordination of our actions will put an end to these vain hopes of the aggressor," the Ukrainian president said.
The central government's powers in defense, national security, foreign policy, rights and freedoms guarantees, as well as the state's territorial integrity will remain unchanged, Poroshenko said.
