Duma committee to mull draft motion to Constitutional Court on election rescheduling on Monday

The State Duma Committee for Constitutional Law will discuss Monday morning a draft query of the lower house to the Constitutional Court on the initiative of rescheduling the 2016 parliamentary election from December 4 to the third Sunday of September, Duma Vice Speaker and committee member Igor Lebedev (Liberal Democrat) told Interfax.

"This will be a query from the entire house. After the committee, as we expect, approves the document on Monday, it will be submitted to the house for discussion on Tuesday or Wednesday," Lebedev said on Sunday.

Earlier State Duma Deputy Speaker Sergei Neverov told Interfax that the lower house would vote on the motion to the Constitutional Court at its closest session on June 16.
