The document was signed by Rosatom CEO Sergei Kiriyenko and Myanmar Minister of Science and Technology Ko Ko Oo.

This memorandum is the first stage in the work on an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation on the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The latest negotiations between Russia and Myanmar on cooperation on the peaceful use of nuclear energy took place in March.

The sides then agreed on specific steps to create favorable conditions for interaction in the use of advanced nuclear technologies, including the strengthening of the legal framework for cooperation and personnel training.
