The OSCE's outgoing special envoy at the Contact Group on Ukraine Heidi Tagliavini' assessment of the Contact Group's work in Minsk on Tuesday was rather restrained.
She told reporters that the fifth round of talks was not quite easy again. The subgroup for political issues discussed elections and the special status of Donbass, she said. It would be premature to talk about any concrete results. Further talks are needed, Tagliavini said.
The subgroup for humanitarian issues listened to a report by a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross. The discussion centered on the liberation of captives. The ICRC could offer assistance in this, she said.
The subgroup for economic issues discussed the restoration of the Donbass infrastructure and pension payouts.
It has prepared a package of concrete projects that could be implemented in the near future, she said, but did not elaborate.
