President Vladimir Putin has referred to an important development that will take place at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Ufa - the beginning of India's accession to the organization.
"We are launching the process of the fully-fledged accession of India to SCO," he said at a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ufa.
He also pointed to a number of important steps that will be taken at the meeting of BRICS leaders in Ufa.
"We are to adopt a long-term strategy of economic partnership of BRICS countries and give a launch to the practical operation of the Development Bank and the Pool of Conventional Currency Reserves," Putin said.
He also invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak of the development of Russian-Indian strategic relations.
