11 rescued, 29 missing after barracks collapse in Omsk

Eleven people have been rescued after a partial collapse inside a four-storey barracks on the grounds of an Airborne Troops training center in Omsk region at 7:52 p.m. on July 12, a Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson told Interfax.

The personnel were resting in the building when the tragedy occurred.

They are getting the necessary medical assistance on the spot.

 

The base commanders counted the training center's personnel and established the absence of 29 people.

The training center's military personnel and railway brigades are clearing the rubble.

An emergency response team is working at the scene.
