The BRICS countries have proposed that Russia take part in joint rail freight projects

The BRICS countries have proposed that Russia take part in joint rail freight projects, Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said at a briefing in Ufa on Friday.

"Our partners [from India, Brazil, South Africa] are offering us implementation of a host of projects in the rail infrastructure area. Our Russian Railways (RZD) as a company is interacting with the transportation organizations in those countries," Sokolov said, adding that Russia cooperates with those countries first and foremost in air and maritime freight shipment.
