Ex-Russian football team manager Fabio Capello will remain a resident of Russia until the end of 2015.
The Russian Izvestia newspaper cited Nikita Simonyan, the interim president of the Russian Football Union, as saying this had been agreed with the Russian Football Union (RFS).
Capello, 69, has already been paid wages due to him through the end of 2015, and committed to keep his status of a tax resident of Russia. Under the Russian law, Capello must stay in Russia not less than 183 days during a calendar year. As of July 15 this year, the Italian has been staying in Russia during 97 days. Now, he has to live in Russia for 86 more days during the period ending December 31, 2015. He can leave the country for no more than 83 days.
The RFS will carry on renting Capello an apartment in a side-street near Prechistenskaya Embankment which will cost 14,300 euros monthly.
By keeping the resident tax status for Capello, RFS has saved him a significant amount of money on taxation. In Italy, the income tax would be 45 percnet in his case, compared to only 13 percent in Russia.
