The International Basketball Federation (FIFA) has suspended Russian national basketball teams from all international competitions, Sergey Chernov, a member of FIBA’s Executive Bureau, told TASS on Wednesday.

"The Russian Basketball Federation [RBF] received a letter," Chernov, who is also the president emeritus of the RFB, said in an interview with TASS. "The letter shows that the RFB is currently not listed among the FIBA [members]."

"We will now be thinking how to resolve this situation," Chernov said. "Let the Sports Ministry and the Russian Olympic Committee [ROC] think about it. [Russia’s] participation in the European Championships and [2016] Olympics is under question."
