The International Army Games are challenging the Armed Forces of NATO countries and the United States to engage in an open competition, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov has said.
"I believe this time will come and our colleagues from Western European countries and the U.S. will decide to take part in an open competition. I am convinced that it is far better than looking at our country through the aiming device of tank guns," Antonov told reporters on July 30.
"It is not a secret that not all countries have agreed to come. Certainly, there were both political and military-technological concerns. Some states did not hide the fact that losing the competition to Russian hardware would undermine their export capabilities. And this may result in losses worth millions," he said.
