Nine people are believed to have been injured when a truck collided with a Belgorod-Moscow passenger train on July 31, a spokesman for the Russian Interior Ministry's branch for the Belgorod region told Interfax.
"The preliminary information available indicates that nine people have been injured in the road accident. Of them, two - the [truck] driver and the engine driver - are in serious condition. The others have sustained minor injuries," he said.
Information about the number of injured persons will be verified, he added.
According to police, the truck was carrying break-stone. Its driver is a resident of the Oryol region.
As a result of the collision, the locomotive of the Moscow-Belgorod-Moscow train derailed and overturned, and six of its carriages partially derailed as well.
