Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is expected to hold a series of meetings as part of his visit to Qatar on Monday, including trilateral talks with his counterparts from the United States and Saudi Arabia.
The Russian minister plans to meet with Emir of Qatar Tamim Al Thani and the country's Foreign Minister Khalid al-Attiyah.
Also on Monday, Doha is expected to host a trilateral meeting of Lavrov, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. The settlement process in Syria is expected to dominate the meeting's agenda.
A source in the Russian delegation told Interfax that, apart from the aforementioned events, Lavrov also plans to hold negotiations with former president of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces Ahmed Moaz al-Khatib and Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Khaled Mashal.
The source also said that talks with the foreign ministers of Kuwait and Oman are on the agenda of Lavrov's visit to Doha as well.
