Russia ready to welcome NATO members at intl army games

Russia is ready to invite NATO countries to the International Army Games, Lt. Gen. Ivanov Buvaltsev, the head of the Russian Armed Forces Main Directorate for Combat Training, said on Aug. 8.

"We were ready to invite NATO countries to our competitions back in 2013, we are ready now as well and waiting for them with arms wide open, we are not afraid of contests," Buvaltsev said.

In future the international games could be held outside Russia, in Kazakhstan, for example, he added.

"We will be glad if the member states invite us. I know there is a wonderful racetrack for motorists and a training range in Kazakhstan that are quite capable of hosting events of such a scale," Buvaltsev said.
