Singapore’s Joseph Schooling wins bronze at FINA World Championships in Kazan

Schooling set the Asian record in the 100-meter butterfly competition. This is Singapore’s first ever medal in the swimming world championships.

Joseph Schooling became the first Singaporean to win a medal in the world swimming championships, after winning a bronze medal in the 100-meter butterfly event of the FINA Championships in Kazan last week.

Schooling set a new Asian record at the event, with his finish time of 50.96s, according to a Channel News Asia.

Chad Le Clos of South Africa won the gold medal, while Hungary’s Laszlo Cseh won the silver.
