Russia is in the lead in the overall team standing at the 2015 International Army Games after 467 sets of medals of the total 480 sets have been contested, the chief referee, Dmitry Gorbatenko, has told the media.
"Of the participating countries Russia is in the lead. It has placed first practically in all contests. China is second, and Kazakhstan, third for the time being," Gorbatenko said.
The final round of the games is now underway.
Gorbatenko recalled that on today’s schedule there were Tank Biathlon finals. The finals due on August 15 will round up the games.
"Some changes in the countries’ rankings may still follow. In particular, as far as second, third and fourth places are concerned. Russia’s leadership is indisputable. No other contestant will be able to catch up, but it remains to be seen who will be second and who will be third," Gorbatenko said.
In particular, he noted the tough struggle among the teams and crews.
"The results were so tight that in some cases not seconds, but fractions of a second mattered," Gorbatenko said.
