Lavrov: Russia, EU, US, Arab states seek unification of Syrian opposition

Russia, together with its Arab partners, as well as the European Union and the United States, seeks to promote the unification of all Syrian opposition forces, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Friday.

The minister made his remarks during a meeting with former coordinator of Syria's National Coordination Committee for Democratic Change Haytham Manna.

"These days, Russia, in close contact with our partners among the Arab Gulf countries, other countries in the region, in contact with American colleagues, and supported by European partners, is seeking to help ensure the unification of all opposition fores [in Syria] as soon as possible," Lavrov said.
