Will the U.S. and Russia Presidents meet in the UN General Assembly? Source: Reuters
Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama if the U.S. makes such a proposal, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We presume that our American partners are sending us signals that they want to continue maintaining contacts. And if there is such a proposal on their part, I think our president will consider it constructively," Lavrov told journalists on Aug. 19.
At the same time, Lavrov pointed out that the UN General Assembly will be not the only forum where the two presidents might meet in 2015.
"The General Assembly will be not the only forum where the presidents of Russia and the U.S. will be taking part. Apart from the meetings marking the UN's 70th anniversary, there will be a G20 summit in Antalya and an APEC summit in the Philippines, which will take place in November," he said.
