US sanctions to have no impact on Russia's MiG aircraft production — manufacturer

The US has introduced sanctions against several Russian companies suspected of activities running counter to the United States' Iran, North Korea and Syria Nonproliferation Act.

US sanctions against Russian defense contractors will not affect MiG Corporation aircraft production and the contracts the company has negotiated, press officer Anastasia Kravchenko said on Wednesday.

"They [sanctions] do not harm either the current contracts or aircraft production. Everything is as usual," she told Russian News Service radio, observing that the company considered new sanctions "a political thing rather than a production one."

US authorities have levied sanctions against several Russian companies suspected of activities running counter to the United States' Iran, North Korea and Syria Nonproliferation Act.

In addition to MiG, sanctions cover Russia's Instrument Design Bureau, the Katod company in Novosibirsk, NPO Mashinostroyeniya and Rosoboronexport.
