China, Russia should continue to jointly counter attempts to rewrite history — Xi Jinping

According to Xi Jinping, new shifts have been registered in all spheres of Russia-China bilateral cooperation in 2015.

China and Russia should continue to work together to counter the attempts to write the history of World War II, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"Years pass by, and some young people know less about the history of World War II, others are beginning to forget about it, and still others even try to distort, rewrite this history [of World War II]. In this respect our views are completely identical," he said.

He expressed the hope that Russia and China would cooperate closer in future. "Good bilateral relations are a guarantee of close cooperation between our two countries on the international scene," Xi Jinping said.

According to him, new shifts have been registered in all spheres of the bilateral cooperation in 2015. "About 30 documents will be signed a little later in your presence, and this is clear evidence of the success of your visit," the Chinese leader said.

He assured the Russian president that China was adamant about "the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia."
