Poroshenko: Ceasefire under Minsk agreements observed for first time over past week

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko praises the fact that a ceasefire in Donbass has been observed for a week.

"It's been the first week today during which there has been no shooting at the front. The first week when the Minsk agreements have finally started working," Poroshenko said while visiting the Kyiv regional center for testing candidates for chiefs of local prosecution offices on Sept. 5. 

"Yes, some guys are getting killed on tripwire mines, including on our own ones, and some have been injured. Some have been killed in traffic accidents in a different way. But nobody is getting killed today in armed clashes and from shelling," he added.
