Russian President Vladimir Putin called Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Sept. 5, Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov said.
During the conversation, Putin characterized the events in the republic as an attempt to destabilize the internal situation in the country and said words of support to the Tajik administration.
Additionally, Putin and Rahmon reached an agreement to meet at the Sept. 15 CSTO summit in Dushanbe.
Attacks on law enforcement officials took place in Tajikistan on Sept. 4 and Sept. 5. Several people were hurt in the attacks.
