All food and commodity markets were closed in the Tajik capital on Sept.6, the city administration of Dushanbe reports.
"All city markets - food, commodity and others - have been closed for security reasons. The markets will resume operations as of September 10, i.e. after the celebration of Independence Day," the report says.
Tajikistan marks Independence Day on September 9. It is a red-letter day.
"The measures are taken for security reasons and to avoid crowding," the report says.
Stores, cafes and restaurants in the city center continue functioning, an Interfax correspondent reports.
