Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reminded U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in a recent telephone conversation about the opinion of Russian President Vladimir Putin that it would be premature to speak about Russia's involvement in the military operation in Syria.
"The minister called the attention of the state secretary to the commentary made by President Vladimir Putin in Vladivostok: it would be premature to speak about Russia's participation in military operations in Syria," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told reporters.
Lavrov also told Kerry Moscow had never concealed that it "was delivering military hardware to the Syrian authorities with the purpose of fighting terrorists."
