"The Russian side attaches great importance to the 70th anniversary of the organization. We consider it necessary to highlight that we are interested that the organization continues to play the central coordinating role in all aspects of the international agenda and international security issues. The speech of our president will undoubtedly touch on these subjects," Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov told journalists.

Putin will speak at the UN General Assembly session on September 28, he said. "This has already been agreed on. As to other aspects of his presence, they are still being worked on," he said.

Putin will touch on the "key aspects of the international agenda, including naturally joint effort to combat terrorism," Ushakov said.
