Comparing ISIS militants with Nazis justified - Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that it is appropriate to draw parallels between Islamic State (ISIS) militants and Nazi forces.

Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that it is appropriate to draw parallels between Islamic State (ISIS) militants and Nazi forces.

"I do not think that it would surprise anyone. Just look at their atrocities, which range from beheading people, burning them alive to destroying monuments of world culture," Putin said when answering questions from Russian journalists.

"Is it not suggesting this parallel with the Nazis because the Nazis also behaved like that?" he said.

"That is why there is nothing surprising about this comparison. And, realizing this, I would like us very much to rally as many countries as possible in the fight against this threat," Putin said.
