A Russian frontline bomber belonging to the Air Force group deployed in Syria has delivered a pinpoint strike using a KAB-500 smart bomb upon an Islamic State camp near Maarat al-Numaan.

A Russian frontline bomber belonging to the Air Force group deployed in Syria has delivered a pinpoint strike using a KAB-500 smart bomb upon an Islamic State camp near Maarat al-Numaan, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday.

"Based on flight data recordings, the terrorists' fortifications, ammunition depots, fuel and lubricant warehouses, and seven pieces of military hardware have been destroyed," Konashenkov said at a Defense Ministry news briefing on Saturday.

The circular error probability of the KAB-500 smart air bombs is not more than five meters, he said.

"These and other precision weapons have been used over the past several days to strike ISIS terrorist sites, such as command posts, ammunition depots, fuel and lubricant warehouses, and workshops where weapons for suicide bombers are manufactured," he said.
