The Russian Air Force group deployed at the Hmeimim airbase in Syria is continuing to deliver highly precise airstrikes upon the terrorist group Islamic State's sites, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Over the past 24 hours, Su-34 and Su-24M planes of the Russian Air Force group in Syria have carried out over 20 flights to strike upon nine sites of the ISIS terrorist group," Konashenkov said at a Defense Ministry news briefing on Saturday.
In particular, Russian warplanes carried out six flights on Friday night and early on Saturday to deliver pinpoint strikes upon three sites of the Islamic State's terrorist infrastructure, he said.
"A pinpoint strike using a BETAB-500 concrete piercing air bomb fired from a Su-34 plane near the city of Raqqah destroyed a fortified command post belonging to the gunmen and an underground bunker where explosives and ammunition were stored," he said.
