Russia's chief rabbi calls on international community to eliminate terrorists, their ideology

Russia's chief rabbi Berl Lazar has called for a fight against terrorism in connection with the attacks on the people of Israel.

Russia's chief rabbi Berl Lazar has called for a fight against terrorism in connection with the attacks on the people of Israel.

"We believe and hope that the global community will eventually begin a war to destroy all forms of terrorism, all terrorist groups, the entire terror infrastructure. We are praying for the Almighty One to strengthen the hands of the Israeli security forces by letting them find and punish the perpetrators, masterminds and inspirers of the Jerusalem terrorist attack," Lazar said in his condolence, which was released by his press service on Oct.4.

A Palestinian man recently attacked passers-by in Jerusalem, killing two people. The attacker was shot and killed by a police officer. Several hours later, a Palestinian in Jerusalem stabbed an Israeli teenager. The attacker was shot and killed while trying to leave the crime scene.

Lazar said some politicians, including high-ranking ones, still say that "the problem should be resolved using political methods, that there is a need to negotiate and look for compromises, at least with a certain part of the international terrorist [movement]."

"Anyone who kills innocent people is a terrorist and needs to be destroyed. Every organization that protects, defends or finances terrorists should be destroyed. Any ideology that justifies terrorist attacks should be outlawed and destroyed," he said.
