"All reports by Western media saying that Russian planes delivered airstrikes on the city of Palmyra are absolute lies," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov told Interfax on Oct.6.

"Our aviation in Syria is not working on [attacking] populated areas, not to mention architectural monuments located there," Konashenkov said.
