Russia verifying info about new violation of Turkish airspace

Russia's Embassy in Turkey has confirmed that the Russian ambassador was summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry following reports about a second violation of Turkey's airspace by a Russian air force plane operating in Syria.

According to the Turkish side, the violation occurred on Oct. 4.

Russia is currently verifying information about the incident.

"Indeed, the ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry of Turkey, where he was informed of the incident. We are verifying this information," press officer of the Russian Embassy in Ankara Igor Mityakov told Interfax by phone on Oct.6.
