Russian Sukhoi Su-24M, Su-25 jets destroy ISIS convoy, control post in Syrian province of Hama

Precision strikes of Russian Sukhoi Su-24M bombers and Su-25 attack aircraft destroyed a mortar position, a truck convoy and a control post of ISIL over the past day, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov told reporters on Oct. 12.

"A Sukhoi Su-25 attack aircraft destroyed a truck convoy carrying ammunition and fuel to ISIS terrorists stationed near the town of Sukaik north of Hama," he said.

Three tank trucks, a large truck and two cross-country vehicles with mounted large-caliber machineguns which accompanied the convoy were eliminated, Konashenkov said.

In addition, a Sukhoi Su-24M bomber dropped a KAB-500 glide bomb on an ISIS control post in a bunker in the Hama province, the ministry spokesman said.

"The precision strike destroyed all fortifications of the terrorists," he said.

"A Sukhoi Su-25 attack aircraft delivered a strike on a road-mobile mortar position of the militants near Tell-Sukaik in the Hama province. Three cross-country vehicles carrying mortars and an ammunition truck were destroyed in the precision strike," Konashenkov said.
