The proposal to send a Russian delegation in Washington was made to American partners after the launching of the Aerospace Forces' operation, Russia was ready to discuss military and political issues of resolving the conflict in Syria, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.

"This has recently taken place, practically after the launching of the relevant part of the military operation. Not in New York, naturally. We behaved as partners in this regard: and the president had talks with his counterpart, these consultations were held at the level of the foreign political agencies. But such a signal was certainly sent already after the launching of the relevant combat actions," Medvedev said in an interview on the News on Saturday program.

He said that American colleagues were saying all the time that the problem should be resolved comprehensively, "it is needed to agree on Syria's future, it is needed to discuss the fate of President Assad and to work on political settlement."
