The Syrian Kurds support Russia's actions in Syria and are in solidarity with Moscow that the efforts should be pooled in the struggle against terrorists, co-chair of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party Asia Abdullah said.
"We welcome the participation of international forces in the struggle against the Islamic State, we also hail Russian airstrikes on terrorists," she told Interfax.
"We believe that it is needed to unite sound forces inside Syria as well as international forces to confront the main threat," Abdullah said.
In reply to the Interfax specifying question whether the Syrian Kurds support the Russian initiative on a broad anti-terrorist coalition, Abdullah said: "Yes, the Syrian Kurds support it."
Abdullah has also confirmed plans to set up Syrian Kurdistan's representative office in Russia.
"In our opinion, this is needed in order to intensify mutual relations with the Russian leadership," she told.
"This representative office will bring the positions [of Russia and Syrian Kurds] closer and more rapidly adopt decisions on various issues," Abdullah said.
Abdullah also said that during the visit to Moscow, the Syrian Kurds' delegation is expected to hold talks with representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
