Moscow, Tokyo sign cooperation memorandum

Under the memorandum, the two cities will cooperate in the spheres of city development and planning, sports and recycling.

Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin and Tokyo governor Yoichi Masuzoe signed on Thursday a memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation between the two capitals.

Under the memorandum, Tokyo and Moscow will cooperate in the spheres of city development and planning, sports and recycling.

"I am convinced our cooperation will enter a new level. We will promote close contacts between our cities, businesses and people," Sobyanin said.

Meanwhile, Masuzoe expressed hope for productive cooperation with Moscow.
