Virtually all Russian tourists who earlier bought tours to Egypt for upcoming dates have agreed to go vacationing to Turkey instead in light of the Russian government's decision to suspend all flights to Egypt, Irina Tyurina, a spokesperson for the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI), told Interfax on Nov. 7.
"All the nearest flights that were supposed to fly to Egypt have been redirected to Antalya. Virtually all tourists have agreed to this," Tyurina said.
All major travel operators, including Pegas Touristik and Coral Travel, have offered this very destination, as the weather there is still warm, she said.
"Biblio Globus is offering Cyprus today," Tyurina said.
This plan will be offered to the tourists who were supposed to fly within the next few days, she said.
