30 tonnes of tourists' luggage brought from Egypt to Moscow

The first plane airlifted over 1,100 suitcases and bags

The first plane of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry transporting Russian tourists' luggage from Egypt has landed in Moscow, the ministry press service reports.

"An Ilyushin Il-76 plane of the Emergency Situations Ministry has landed in Vnukovo airport. It delivered luggage of the passengers who earlier departed from Egypt. The total weight of the luggage nears 30 tonnes," a ministry representative said.

In all, the plane airlifted over 1,100 suitcases and bags each weighing approximately 25 kilograms.

"These are personal belongings of tourists who departed from Sharm el-Sheikh by eight flights," the ministry said.

Vnukovo Airport services will unload the luggage and store it in designated places until the luggage is claimed and transported.
