Russian torrents to be blocked permanently

The Moscow City Court has sanctioned the permanent blocking of Rutracker.org

The Moscow City Court has sanctioned the permanent blocking of one of the most popular websites of the Russian-speaking internet, Rutracker.org.

"Today we have heard the case in the claim for a permanent blocking. The claim filed by Publishing House Eksmo, LLC against Dreamtorrent Corp. has been sustained. The court ruled on the permanent blocking of the website," the court's press service told Interfax.

The court decision will only become enforceable upon its entering into legal force (either after the court reviews an appeal against it or upon expiry of the 30-day period) the press service added.
