Putin notes change in U.S. position on anti-ISIL cooperation with Russia

The United States initially rejected Russia's proposal to join efforts in the fight against terrorism, including ISIL, but everyone is beginning to realize that this is necessary, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.
The United States initially rejected Russia's proposal to join efforts in the fight against terrorism, including ISIL, but everyone is beginning to realize that this is necessary, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.
"There is a need for concrete work of preventing terror attacks, prevention in the fight against global terror. For our part, we offered cooperation in fighting ISIL. Unfortunately, at the initial stage our partners in the United States responded by rejecting it," Putin told reporters after the G20 summit on Monday.
"They simply sent a written note saying: we are rejecting your offer. But life goes on, and very fast, often teaching us some lessons. And it seems to me that now a realization, that only together can we fight efficiently, is coming to everyone," he said.
