Russian Aerospace Forces are delivering strikes in Syria against all who profess the terrorist ideology; the accusations that Russia is allegedly striking civilians are groundless, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.

"We […] are doing this [delivering strikes] consistently and do not divide terrorists into those who would be able to help resolve some tactical tasks with a hope that it will be possible to deal with them later, but are striking all who profess or preach the terrorist ideology in some or another way," Lavrov said in the Arithmetic of Terror film which was aired during the Vesti.doc program on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

"I believe that all the 'complaints' which we hear that 'Russia is striking in the wrong places and is inflicting damage on the moderate opposition' are caused by the ambiguity which lies at the basis of the coalition's activity: there is a striving not to let the terrorists go wild, but in those cases when they can weaken the regime not to hamper this. This causes all the talking and unfounded accusations that we are nearly violating all the laws of waging war and are hitting civilians," he said.
