Russian Foreign Ministry: New U.S. sanctions undermine bilateral relation

Ministry referred critically of the U.S. imposing sanctions against Russians

Russian Foreign Ministry referred critically of the U.S. imposing restrictive measures against Russian individuals and organizations in connection with the situation in Syria.

"We consider the imposing by the U.S. Barak Obama administration of new sanctions against a number of Russian nationals and legal persons in a preposterous relation to the situation in Syria as another deliberate attempt of discrediting Russia," the ministry said in a commentary published following the extension of the Russian sanction lists by the U.S.

"It is regrettable that instead of a consolidation of efforts in the fight against common threats, the U.S. continues to enthusiastically play in sanction games and undermine the Russian-American relations. Such an irresponsible approach will remain on Washington's conscience," it said.
