Charter flights from Russia to Turkey stopped

Russian tour operators have practically stopped charter flights transporting tourists to Turkey

Russian tour operators have practically stopped charter flights transporting tourists to Turkey, a source in the tourism industry told Interfax on Nov. 29.

"As of Sunday morning, charter flights transporting tourists to Turkey have practically come to a halt. Most flights transporting Russians home from Turkish resort towns are charter," the source said.

Such planes mostly arrive in Turkey empty, he said. Luggage is thoroughly examined before Russian planes take it aboard. Security of Russian charter flights has been tightened.
