Sergei Lavrov and Adel Al-Jubeir had a telephone conversation on Dec. 7

Upon the Saudi initiative Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Saudi Arabian counterpart Adel Al-Jubeir had a telephone conversation, discussing Syria and the convening of another meeting on Syria settlement, the Russian Foreign Ministry's website said on Dec. 7.

"At the talks on regional problems the sides focused on the situation around Syria. Lavrov called for ensuring a maximally representative nature of a meeting between representatives of the Syrian opposition, which will be held in Riyadh in the next few days and is intended to assist Special Envoy of the UN general secretary for Syria Staffan de Mistura in shaping a joint opposition delegation for the talks with the Syrian government," the ministry said.

"The plans of further work within the International Syria Support Group, including the convening of another meeting to settle the issues related to the compiling of a list of terrorist organizations on the Syrian territory, were also discussed," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
