The Kremlin has said that no restrictions on rapid mobile data transmission systems, so-called messenger apps, are planned to be introduced.
"I am aware that the issue is really being worked on, but not regarding restrictions. As far as I am concerned, there are no restrictions there, but the issue is being worked on, but this is not the result of any instructions, even more so by the presidential administration," Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Dec. 9.
He said that the introduction of any restrictions on messenger apps would be very inconvenient for him personally. "A restriction would be inconvenient for me, and I believe that it would be inconvenient for all of us," Peskov said.
