This Thursday at the Fourth Delhi International Film Festival, Russian movies were honored with the top prizes – for best film and best director. The awards were presented during the closing ceremonies of the festival.

The award for Best Film went to the debut film by Dmitry Kuzmin – I’ll Never Leave You! The international premiere of this movie was shown earlier at the festival. The Best Director prize at the festival went to Arseny Gonchukov, for his film The Last Night.

“I am glad I was able to come to India,” Mr. Kuzmin told TASS. “This trip for me was not only interesting, but also successful. This is the first film festival in which I participated.”

In addition, special awards at the festival were handed out Alexey Burykin for the Russian documentary film “Raj Kapoor: Comrade Awara”, and actress Dana Maximova for her role in the film I’ll Never Leave You!

In total, at this festival that opened on December 5, more than 150 films from 90 countries were shown. The event was opened by the film named Definition of Fear by British director James Simpson, with Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez playing the lead role. The closing film of the festival was “Raj Kapoor: Comrade Awara”.
