Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will launch a new thematic project between Russia and China that is the holding of the Years of Russian and Chinese Media during a visit to Beijing.
Medvedev said in an interview with the Chinese newspaper Renmin Ribao on the eve of a visit to China that a solemn closure of the Years of Youth Exchanges was timed to the 20th meeting between the heads of government of the two countries in Beijing. "We agreed to combine the closing ceremony with the opening of a new interesting and sought-for thematic project - the Years of Russian and Chinese Media," the prime minister said.
He said that the action plan of these years contained more than 100 joint projects: the shooting of films, TV series and documentaries, translation and publication of books and the holding of book fairs.
"There are also major prospects in the cooperation in the field of new media, which are the future of global media. During my visit to China I will attend the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen," Medvedev said.
He said with confidence that "we will confine ourselves to the holding of Russian-Chinese Years of Media, as there are very many spheres in which we can establish the productive dialogue."
