Participants in international event to be able to enter Russia without visa

Government will approve the list of sportive, cultural and business events

Russian President Vladimir Putin permitted visa-free access to Russia for foreign nationals participating in sportive, cultural and scientific major events.

Participants in international sportive, cultural, scientific and business major events of a foreign nationality or without citizenship may enter the Russian Federation without a visa under the presidential decree published on the official website. However, every participant must present an accreditation card issued by the organizers of the respective event and approved by Russia's Federal Security Service.

"The Russian Government will approve the list of international sportive, cultural and business major events, and respective eligible periods that foreign nationals and stateless persons may stay in Russia in connection with their participation in such events," the decree says.
