Russian gas supply to Bulgaria continues without interruption

Russian Foreign Ministry said the amount of gas supply may be increased

Russia will not leave Bulgaria without natural gas and believes that the amount of gas supply may be increased, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a commentary on Bulgarian media reports stating that the Bulgarian company Overgas Inc. has not received notifications that gas supply to Russia will continue.

"According to the administration of the Russian company Gazprom, the supply of Russian natural gas to Bulgaria continues without interruption through the state company EAD Bulgargaz in the amount of three billion cubic meters, which is the country's annual need. The supply may be increased further," a report posted on the Russian Foreign Ministry website on Dec. 31 says.

"Negotiations are being conducted with the company Overgas Inc., cooperation with which has until now ensured not more than 10% of the annual gas consumption, and negotiations are being conducted on the settlement of the commercial issues that have accumulated in previous years," Moscow said.

"We will not leave Bulgaria without Russian gas," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
